Predictors of changing patterns of adherence to containment measures during the early stage of COVID-19 pandemic: an international longitudinal study

Abstract

International longitudinal study examining predictive factors of changes in adherence to containment measures (n=2189). Greater self-efficacy and prosociality reduced the probability of decreasing adherence; perception of severity and susceptibility were also predictors. Promoting self-efficacy and prosocial behaviors in public campaigns is suggested.
